WordPress is an online, open source website creation tool written in PHP…but in non-geek speak. It is one of the most powerful blogging and website content management system (or CMS) in existence today.
Strategic Design: What is it and how to implement it
A strategic design is the process of combining the company goals and the creative process to create an effective and user-friendly interface. This means your website needs not only to visually appeal to the correct audience, but also display the correct style to accomplish it’s goal, while being easily navigated. These five steps will help in accomplishing these goals and create an effective strategic design.
Step 1: Establish Goals
Goals need to be measurable, quantitative and precise. Goals are finalized at the inception of the project and lay the foundation of the entire creative strategy.
Your audience determines many factors (style and functionality) of the website. How these elements are created will determine how well the website meets its goals.
A website is an extension of a company’s brand. Brand is another word for image and is created through color, graphics, photo styles and many other creative assets.
Goal-driven design can be implemented when the objectives, goals, audience and brand have all been determined. These will determine the interface, design style, user-flows and other factors.
It cannot be known if the design strategy was on target, unless testing is completed and the fulfillment of goals is measured. The key word is “measured”.
